Dear Colleague,

Here we are in February of 2014 already – it's mazing how time flies! I certainly hope everyone is having fun… Did you ever wonder, what it takes to be a successful consultant? What are the skills, capabilities and competencies needed? The ASP February program entitled, “Skill, Capabilities and Competencies for Successful Consulting -- An Inside Out View,” addresses just that! We have assembled a panel of industry leaders, representing established organizations, who are looking forward to sharing their perspectives on this hot topic.

Asava of Asava Consulting, Inc.

Your ASP - Dallas - Fort Worth chapter, is bringing this program in collaboration with The Consulting Club of University of Texas Dallas (UTD). I encourage you to register early and join us in this highly interactive session.

Thank you, and we look forward to meeting you on Thursday, February 20, 2014, starting at 5:30 p.m., at the University of Texas - Dallas, School of Management in Richardson.

THE GREATER DALLAS INDO-AMERICAN CHAMBER LAUNCHES BUSINESS INNOVATION CHALLENGE

$10,000 in Cash Awarded to Students with the Best Business Ideas

March 13, 2013 (Dallas, TX)—The most recognizable and successful companies today were started by college students. The most notable of these collegiate start-ups are Apple, Dell, Google, Facebook, FedEx and Microsoft. Their combined value is approximately $2 trillion dollars. They employ tens of thousands of workers around the world and their products and services have improved the quality of life of millions. In the support of every college student inspired by these trailblazers, the Greater Dallas INDO-AMERICAN Chamber of Commerce along with Texas Instruments, Aegis Global Communications and FunAsia announce the 2013 Business Innovation Challenge (BIC). All full-time college students in North Texas are invited to submit their business ideas on or before May 30, 2013 by going to the chamber web site at www.gdiacc.org. Along with $10,000 in cash, finalists will be introduced to other successful entrepreneurs and business executives to help turn their ideas into real businesses.

“Innovation is the fuel that moves the economy forward,” says Sunil Maini, Chairman of the Greater Dallas INDO-AMERICAN Chamber of Commerce. “Our chamber and our corporate partners want to support our youth in a meaningful way that demonstrates our commitment to them.”

Finalists will be selected upon the uniqueness of the idea, research within the particular industry segment and the demand for the service or product. These three categories will be judged by a committee comprised of successful entrepreneurs and business executives representing those specific areas of business. All ideas submitted will in the form of an Executive Summary, which can be downloaded from the chamber’s web site.

“The BIC is unique because of its inclusiveness to all educational institutions and students from around the area,” said Arnel Trovada, Executive Director at the Greater Dallas INDO-AMERICAN Chamber of Commerce. “Most universities have their own programs but we want the BIC to be extension of those programs and tap the collective ideas from the region.

The official rules of the 2013 Business Innovation Challenge can be viewed by going to the chamber web site at www.gdiacc.org. Finalists will be awarded and honored at the chamber’s Annual Awards Banquet.
